Movie Review: The Big Bull

Abhishek Bachchan, Nikita Dutta, Ileana D'Cruz, Saurabh Shukla, Ram Kapoor, Sameer Soni
Director: Cookie Gulati
Category: Hindi, Drama
Rating: 3.0 / 5

Abhishek Bachchan's lead role in ' The Big Bull ' is on OTT platform . You must have guessed the story of the film. A web series on the life of stock broker Harshad Mehta has just come out last year. So there is no need to mention the story of the film in more detail. Speaking of Abhishek Bachchan, this film can definitely be seen for his acting.

The story

One of the small stock brokers in the stock market is Hemant Shah (Abhishek Bachchan), who manipulates the country's financial system and the loopholes in banking. However, Hemant's dream comes to an abrupt end. The story of the film is based on Harshad Mehta and the scams he committed.

In a growing economy, everyone wants to be rich. In their lust for riches, many have chosen the wrong path. Some are caught in the crossfire and some survive. The story of Harshad Mehta has also come. Hansal Mehta has created a web series called 'Scam 1992' on the same scam, which people liked very much. Now that everyone knows the whole story of this scam, it was a challenging task for director Cookie Gulati to present it in a new way. Cookie Gulati has also been largely successful in the two-and-a-half-hour film as Hemant Shah's story will surely fascinate you more than a middle class and job.

It is not clear why the person behind India's biggest scam is being put on his head.
Not only that, he is being called the messiah of the middle class. If you are not familiar with the story of Harshad Mehta, it is important to know. However, in this film, Abhishek Bachchan is seen pouring life into his character. Nikita Dutta also does a good job as his girlfriend Priya. The film shows how things can be changed in a capitalist economy by tampering with things. The story is well told in the film and the director has been successful in showing 'Old Mumbai' meaning 'Bombay'.

Abhishek Bachchan's acting is admirable but his character could have been portrayed with a little more detail. Abhishek has done enough justice to his character and his hard work is also visible on the screen. However, after some scenes Abhishek looks very loud in the film and sometimes even dramatic. Abhishek and Nikita's love story breaks the story of the film. Ileana D'Cruz is jammed in the character of journalist Mira Rao but her character is not given the depth she needs. The film has strong actors like Ram Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla but they don't get much screen space. Which makes the character seem to be wasted. Overall this is a dramatic film. In which you are shown that even an ordinary person can be a scam.

Why watch : Everyone knows the story of Harshad Mehta's scam, but it can be seen for Abhishek Bachchan's performance.
