More than 300 deaths from corona for the first time in 2021, new cases breaks 163-day-old record

 The death toll due to corona in India has crossed 300 in a single day. For the first time in 2021, 312 people died from corona on Saturday, the highest number since December 24. After 163 days, the number of new cases has crossed 62,500.

Currently, the number of active cases in India has reached 4.85 lakh, which could reach 5 lakh on Sunday. This means that the number of active cases has increased by 90,000 in three days. If the total number of cases reaches 5 lakh on Sunday, this will be the fastest (in 4 days) increase to one lakh active cases.

According to our partner TOI's database, 62,608 new cases were reported in India on Friday, up from 62,336 a day earlier. After October 15, so many cases have been registered in the country in a single day. This is the highest number of cases since January in 15 states. With this, Chhattisgarh has become the third state after Maharashtra and Punjab where 3,000 cases were reported in a single day in March.

The number of daily reported cases has doubled in 10 days, from 27,004 on March 17 to 52,198 on March 27. 312 people have died in the last 24 hours, more than half of them reported from Maharashtra, while 166 people lost their lives due to corona in Maharashtra on Saturday. Which is the highest case since November 5th. Apart from this, 46 people have died in Punjab, 14 in Karal, 13 in Chhattisgarh and 10 in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh.

In Maharashtra, more than 35,000 (35,726) new cases were reported in one day for the third day in a row, up from 36,902 on Friday. More than 5 lakh cases were reported in the state in March. In Mumbai, 6,130 new cases have been reported in a single day.

Apart from this, 3,162 new cases were reported in Chhattisgarh on Saturday, the highest number since September 28. While in Gujarat, for the sixth day in a row, a new case has been registered. Of these, 2,276 new cases were reported on Saturday. One third of the total cases registered in the year 2021 have been registered in just 10 days.

Apart from this, more than 12 states / UTs have broken the record of new cases registered on or before January. Karnataka recorded 2,886 new cases, the highest since November 6, while Tamil Nadu crossed the 2,000 mark. The state has registered 2,089 new cases, the highest since November 12.

In Madhya Pradesh, 2,142 new cases have been reported since September 27, while in Delhi, 1,558 new cases have been reported since December 15. Haryana has the highest number of 1,383 new cases since December 9.
