India, thanks to their bowlers' best performance after their batsmen, defeated England by 36 runs in the fifth and decisive T20 match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium here on Saturday to win the five-match T20 series 3-2.
Batting first, India scored a mammoth 224 for two and then restricted England to 188 for eight in their allotted 20 overs.
For England, David Malan scored 68 off 46 balls with nine fours and two sixes, Jos Buttler scored 52 and Ben Stokes scored 14 off 34 balls with two fours and four sixes.
For India, Shardul Thakur took three, Bhuvneshwar Kumar two and Hardik Pandaya and T Natarajan took one wicket each.
