Ashok Leyland launches India's first 14-wheeler DTLA truck, know what's special in it


Hinduja Group company Ashok Leyland on Friday introduced AVTR 4120, India's first 4-axle and 14-wheel 8 × 2 DTLA truck. 
The total vehicle load capacity (GVW) of this truck is 40.5 tonnes.

Ashok Leyland said in a statement that this truck offers five tons of additional payload compared to other trucks of similar design. Vipin Sondhi, managing director of Ashok Leyland said, "Our effort has always been to meet the needs of our customers and provide better profits for them and AVTR 4120 is a step in this direction." This new truck lift axle down With 40.5-ton and 28-ton with light-load lift axle.

The AVTR 4120 is paired with Parallelogram technology with a 12.5-ton dual-tire-lift-axle (DTLA) that offers improved tire life. The Ashok Leyland AVTR 4120 is available in two different electrical options which include 200bhp + 700Nm variants and 250bhp + 900Nm variants. IGen6 technology gives better power, performance and efficiency. The 14-wheeler truck is built on the latest AVTR modular truck platform, making many cab options such as N cab, U cab, M cab flexible.

The truck's cabin offers a dumper, driver seat, an anti-roll bar at the front, ample storage space, full metal front, music system, AC and HVAC options. There is a choice of 24 × 7 customer help with this truck. Along with this, digital networking services like telematics, remote diagnostics are also available. The company offers several options to choose from, including maintenance free units wheel bearings and slipper-ended rear suspension.

Prior to this, Ashok Leyland has introduced the LE and LX trucks to conform to the BS-6 emission standard under the BOSS series. Their price starts at Rs 18 lakh in Delhi showroom. Ashok Leyland said in a statement that these two Intermediate Commercial Vehicles (ICVs) will meet the market requirement of 11.1 tonnes to 14.05 tonnes gross vehicle load (GVW). The company said that customers will get many options like loading from 14 feet to 24 feet in it. With the Boss series, the company's ICV offering has become the best in the market.
