UPSC: Good news for civil service exam candidates

There is
good news for UPSC i.e. Union Public Service Commission candidates for Civil Service Examination. The Central Government has agreed to give one more chance to the candidates in the UPSC Civil Service Examination. The government has filed an affidavit in the relevant Supreme Court.

The matter has been pending in the Supreme Court for the past few days on a petition filed by Rachna Singh, a civil service candidate. The petition said that due to the Corona epidemic, many candidates could not appear in the UPSC Civil Service Examination scheduled for the year 2020. So some could not give their best in the planned examination in the opposite situation.

The petition seeks that candidates who had last chance to appear for UPSC exams in the year 2020 be given one more chance. The next hearing in the case will now be held in the Supreme Court on Monday. It is to be noted here that UPSC's Civil Service Preliminary Examination 2020 was held on October 4, 2020. Earlier in September, the apex court had asked the central government to give one more chance to the UPSC Civil Service Examination 2020 by raising the age limit for the last attempt for the candidates. Also, the government said that this would cause many obstacles. (With input from ANI)
