I don't see England winning a single Test against India: Gautam Gambhir

Mumbai:
The first Test cricket match between India and England is set to begin on February 5. Before the start of the series, Gautam Gambhir, the former opener of the Indian cricket team, said that given the spin bowling attack that the England team has, he does not think that England will be able to win a single Test.

The England team includes Moin Ali, Dom Bass and Jack Leach in spin bowling. Out of these three spinners, only Moin Ali has experienced. Moin Ali is 181 wickets faster in 60 Tests. While Bess and Leach have played 12-12 Tests and are 31 and 44 wickets fast respectively. "Given the spin bowling attack England have, I don't think they can win a single Test," said Gautam Gambhir.

Gambhir said India could win 3-0 or maybe 3-1. I think both teams have a chance in the Pink Ball Test. Given the day-night Test situation, England has a 50 per cent chance of winning.

The former opener said England captain Joe Root had a stellar performance in Sri Lanka and the team won 2-0 but in India he would have to face the challenge quite the opposite. If the route has to face a different challenge here. He did well in Sri Lanka but when you face Jaspreet Bumrah on any wicket or Ashwin who is an impressive performer in Australia and full of confidence, it is a completely different challenge.

A four-Test series between India and England will be played, with the first Test starting in Chennai on February 5. The second Test is also to be played in Chennai. The second and third Tests will be played at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad. The third test will be day-night.
