Did You Know? Cheteshwar Pujara has scored a century in T20 cricket

India's star batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been labeled as a Test specialist batsman. However, Pujara has said many times that he is capable of performing in all formats even though he has had little chance to play in T20 cricket. He did not get a chance to play much in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, Pujara was bought by the Chennai Super Kings for a base price of Rs 50 lakh in a player auction for IPL-2021 on Thursday. So now he will see games in IPL again.

However, Pujara has also shown his mettle in T20 cricket. Playing in domestic T20 cricket, Pujara has set a special record for Saurashtra. Pujara is the first Saurashtra cricketer to score a century in T20 cricket. In February 2019, Pujara scored a century against Railways in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 cricket tournament.

In that match, Pujara completed the century in just 61 balls, batting immediately. In which he hit 14 fours and a six. With this, he became the first Saurashtra batsman to score a century in T20. With the help of his century, Saurashtra scored 188 for three. Pujara hit a half-century off 29 balls.

It was with this century that Pujara made his way into the club of batsmen with the opposite batting style in domestic cricket. With a century in T20, Pujara became the fourth batsman to score a century in T20, 150+ in List-A and a triple century in first-class cricket. Before Pujara, Virender Sehwag, Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal had achieved this feat.
