Farmers who have been protesting against the agricultural law for the last several days have targeted and vandalized more than 1600 mobile towers of Reliance Jio in Punjab . Which affected telecom services in the state. Reliance Jio had blamed rivals Airtel and Vodafone-Idea for the sabotage.
Airtel denied all the allegations
"All these allegations are baseless," Airtel said in a statement on Geo's alleged involvement in the demolition of the tower . In a letter to Telecom's Sachin Anshu Prakash, Airtel termed the allegations of rival Reliance Jio as baseless and irrational. The company has also condemned the demolition of the towers.

In the letter, Airtel said, "Geo alleges that Airtel is indirectly involved in the peasant movement to sabotage towers and force customers to join Airtel." The allegations are baseless. Airtel, however, denied all allegations and said in a statement that it had no role to play. It may be mentioned that the farmers involved in the farmers' movement had demolished more than 1600 mobile towers of Geo in Punjab after the start of the Adani-Ambani protest campaign. Which also affected Geo's services. Farmers feel that only Ambani-Adani will benefit the most from the agricultural law. So they are opposing both groups.
