New Delhi: India is one of the largest smartphone markets in the world. In recent times, many companies have also made India a mobile manufacturing base. The Indian Mobile Congress ( IMC ) 2020 was attended by many big names, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani also joined the Indian Mobile Congress.
During the event, Mukesh Ambani said that Reliance Jio would be a major contributor to the development of 5G connectivity in India by the second half of next year. That is, 5G network may be available in India by the second half of 2021.
In his speech at the event, Ambani said, "The country needs to bring 5G network quickly. His company Geo will lead the 5G revolution in the country. "I can assure you that Geo will lead the 5th revolution in the country in the next six months of 2021," he said.
"I can tell you with great confidence that 5G will not only enable India to participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, but at the same time lead it," he said. As the digitization of the Indian economy and Indian society accelerates, so will the demand for digital hardware. In such a strategic area of the country, we cannot rely heavily on imports.
In his speech, Ambani also stressed the need for cheap smartphones. He said about 300 million mobile subscribers in India are still using the 2G network. No policy measures need to be taken for these people so that they too can use the digital service.
Talking about the recession caused by the Corona epidemic, Ambani said, "The Indian economy will not only get back on track, but will grow at an unprecedented pace. With the slogan "India Can - India Will", all speculations will be dispelled and there will be an economy of 5 trillion US dollars. With the income, employment and quality of life of the one and a half billion people in the middle and at the bottom of the economic pyramid increasing, India will be built with greater equality in the years to come.
