Happy Birthday Rajinikanth: Once a bus conductor, today he is a superstar of cinema

Rajinikanth's real name was Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. 
His childhood was very deprived. His mother died in infancy. So the responsibility of running the house also fell on them.

Very few people would have known that Rajinikanth used to work as a bus conductor. However, working in films was already a dream.

Rajinikanth started his acting career with Kannada plays. Where he was highly praised for playing the role of Duryodhana in the Mahabharata.

Rajinikanth had acquired knowledge of the Tamil language before making an entry in Tamil films. His first film was Apoorva Ragangal. He was accompanied by Kamal Haasan in the film.

Rajinikanth's biggest success in films came with a film called Billa. Amitabh Bachchan's film Dawn, released in 1978, was a remake of Billa.

Let me tell you, Rajinikanth played a triple role for the first time in a film called Mundru Moogam. He was also given the Best Actor award by the Tamil Nadu government for his performances in films.

Andha Kanoon was Rajinikanth's first Hindi film. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Reena Roy. Rajinikanth also appeared with Amitabh Bachchan in the film Hum.

You will be happy to know that Rajinikanth has acted not only in Tamil and Hindi, but also in Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu as well as Bengali films. Rajinikanth also appeared in a Bengali film called Bhagya Devta.

Rajinikanth has been awarded the Padma Bhushan in the year 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2016 by the Government of India.
