Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is being questioned on Thursday on allegations of sexual harassment. After receiving the summons, Anurag Kashyap reached the Versova police station where he is being questioned. Actress Payal Ghosh had leveled serious allegations against Anurag Kashyap and Mumbai Police on Wednesday issued summons to Anurag after his complaint. Anurag Kashyap was scheduled to reach the police station at 11 am. However, he arrived early.
Anurag will be questioned at the Versova police station and his statement will also be recorded. Along with Anurag, his lawyer has also reached the police station. While Payal Ghosh is seeking the arrest of Anurag Kashyap, Anurag's lawyer issued a statement dismissing all the allegations.
A few days back, actress Payal Ghosh had posted a video on social media accusing Anurag of sexual harassment. In the video, Payal said that he and Anurag became friends on Facebook. After which he met Anurag. According to the actress, during the third visit, Anurag called her at his house and tried to rape her. Anurag Kashyap also sent several messages to call the actress at home.
Actress Payal Ghosh has also met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari in this regard. So RPI leader Ramdas Athaval has also come out in support of Payal. He also addressed a joint press conference. After meeting with the governor, Payal told the media that His Excellency has assured him of cooperation. The actress had appealed to the governor to arrest Anurag Kashyap.
Payal announced at a press conference that he would go on a hunger strike if Anurag Kashyap was not arrested. The actress demanded protection, saying her life was in danger. Anurag Kashyap, on the other hand, is getting support from Bollywood. Anurag Kashyap's two ex-wives Aarti Bajaj and Kalki Kekala have endorsed him. In addition, many Bollywood actresses have come in support of Anurag. All this is to say that the allegations against Anurag are baseless and he cannot do anything like that.
