T20 World 2024: Pakistan registers its first win in the tournament by thrashing Canada by 7 wickets



In the 22nd match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan defeated Canada by 7 wickets on the basis of the excellent performance of the bowlers. This is Pakistan's first win in this tournament. Earlier they had played two matches and lost both. With the win against Canada, Pakistan's hopes of reaching the Super 8 remain intact. In this match played at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, Pakistani captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bowl. 

Batting first, Canada scored 106 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Aaron Johnson scored the highest 54(44) runs for the team. He hit 4 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. Kaleem Sana scored 13* runs with the help of 1 six in 14 balls and captain Saad Bin Zafar contributed 10 runs facing 21 balls. Mohammad Aamir and Haris Rauf took the highest 2-2 wickets for Pakistan. Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi took one wicket each. 

Chasing the target, Pakistan won the match by scoring 107 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 17.3 overs. Mohammad Rizwan scored the most runs for the team. He played an unbeaten half-century innings of 53 runs with the help of 2 fours and a six in 53 balls. He scored a half-century in 52 balls. Captain Babar played an innings of 33 runs with the help of a six and a four in 33 balls. Rizwan and Babar added 63 (62) runs for the second wicket. For Canada, Dylan Heyliger took 2 wickets and Jeremy Gordon got one wicket.
