Heatwave has worsened the situation in America as well; many people fell ill at Trump's election rally, temperature broke records

People in America are also suffering due to heatwave. Dozens of people fell ill at the election rally of presidential candidate Donald Trump. They had to be hospitalized. All records were broken by the heatwave in the southwest of America on Thursday. Such conditions may get worse in the coming days due to heat.

These days people in India are very troubled by the hot winds. The temperature has reached 45 degrees at some places and 50 degrees at other places. It is difficult for people to come out of their homes. However, such conditions are not only in India. Record breaking temperatures have scorched America as well. On Thursday, the heatwave in the south-west of America crossed all limits. Records of many years were broken. In some areas, the temperature exceeded 43 degrees Celsius.

This is the situation when the official start of summer is still two weeks away. Therefore, the heat may trouble the people of America more in the coming days. The extent of the heat can be gauged from the fact that dozens of people fell ill in a rally of the likely Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. All of them had to be hospitalized. This rally of Trump was organized for the first time after he was convicted in the hush money case.

Heavy load on the fire department

This heat is also putting a lot of work on the fire department. In Vegas, the fire department has responded to at least 12 calls for heat exposure. Nine of those calls were of patients requiring hospital treatment. This number is likely to be higher, as the fire department may also have to play an important role in other types of calls, including those related to alcohol intoxication or when conditions such as fainting, dizziness or nausea are reported.

Where was the record of so many years broken?

Phoenix hit 45 degrees Celsius, breaking the old record of 44 degrees set in 2016. Temperatures in Las Vegas exceeded 44 degrees. Vegas reached 43 degrees in 2010. Other areas in Arizona, California and Nevada also broke records by a few degrees. Summer has arrived several weeks earlier than usual, even in higher elevations to the north. This includes Reno, Nevada, where the normal maximum temperature for this time of year is 27 degrees Celsius. But on Thursday the record reached 37 degrees Celsius.
