Actually, while answering the question of second marriage, Amrita said that 'I do not want to get married in future, but we do not know what will happen in future, although I am not 16 years old now, yes I don't know maybe not, to be honest, I don't think so.'

However, raising children as a single mother is not an easy task. But Amrita never gave up and never thought of second marriage. In an interview given to Pooja, she further said, "We cannot say anything about the future, actually I have everything that a man can give me. Yes, I am missing some things, but I do not need to get married for that at all".

After marrying Saif Ali Khan in 1991, Amrita Singh stayed away from films for 12 years. However, when she got divorced in 2004, she was forced to start working to support her family and restarted her career. After the divorce, she did not face much difficulty in getting work and she made a comeback in the film world with roles in movies like 'Shootout at Lokhandwala', 'Das Kahaniyaan' and 'Kalyug'.
