T20 World Cup 2024: Reserve day has not been kept for the second semi-final, ICC came up with a unique trick to complete the match.

T20 World Cup 2024: The 9th edition of the T20 World Cup will be played on the soil of America and West Indies from June 2. This is the first time that 20 teams are participating in this mega event. This means that winning the title this time will be more difficult than before. Meanwhile, big news related to the tournament is coming out. Seeing the growing controversy over not having a reserve for the second semi-final, ICC and Cricket West Indies have come up with a unique solution to complete the match.

extra time will be given

If there is rain during the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024, the umpires will have an additional time of four hours and 10 minutes to complete the match. No reserve day has been kept for this important match. In such a situation, if the match could not be played even after extra time, then the team which is on top in the points table of Super 8 will be advanced to the finals. It is noteworthy that a reserve day was kept for the first semi-final, but due to paucity of time, a backup day could not be kept for the second semi-final.

There is no time for reserve day

The first semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in Trinidad on 26 June. It will start at 8.30 pm local time. If the match cannot be played on this day, then the match will be completed on June 27. In such a situation, the team can travel on June 28 and easily play the final on June 29.

But the second semi-final will be played in Guyana on June 27. This match will start at 10.30 am local time. In case of rain, the umpires will have additional time of 250 minutes to complete the match. After this, on June 28 the team will leave for Barbados, where the final will be played on June 29.
