Sony Pictures Networks India MD and CEO N.P. Singh has resigned from his post. He said on Friday that he has taken this decision due to moving forward in life, but he will continue in his current role until a successor is found. He was associated with the company for the last 25 years.

Sony Pictures Networks India MD and CEO NP Singh has resigned from his post. Singh was associated with the company for 25 years. Announcing his decision to leave the company, he said that today I have an important update to share. After almost 44 years in my career, today is the time when I am going to make such a big announcement. This includes a tenure of 25 years at SPNI, I have decided to move on from my role as MD and CEO. He also clarified that he will remain in his current role until a new successor is found.

The process of finding a successor has begun

Singh said in a statement that our team has achieved many important milestones together, I am now ready to focus on social change and transition from operational roles to advisory roles. Singh will continue to lead SPNI until the right person is found to take over the company's charge. The company has started the search process for his successor.

The journey started in 1999

Singh rose from the position of CFO of Sony India in 1999 to CEO in 2019. He was also the COO of the company. An alumnus of Delhi School of Economics, Singh completed his master's program from the institute and obtained a graduation degree in commerce from Delhi University. Prior to this, Singh held several senior positions in finance and management in organizations such as Modi Xerox, Spice Telecom, Modicorp and Hindustan Copper Limited.
