Jharkhand ED raid: Mountain of notes, transfer-posting letters… these big revelations were made in the raid

Cash worth Rs 25 crore, pen drives and many documents have been found in a raid at the premises of the servant of the personal secretary of Jharkhand minister Alamgir. The ED team has also seized a letter from the flat. This was written by the Ranchi branch of ED to the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand in May 2023.

ED (Enforcement Directorate) on Monday raided the premises of the servant of Sanjeev Lal, personal secretary of Jharkhand minister Alamgir Alam. Cash worth Rs 25 crore, pen drives and many documents were found in raids at 6 locations. Sources say that this mountain of notes could be worth more than Rs 25 crore. The number of notes was so high that two note counting machines had to be replaced. These machines stopped working due to heat.

The ED team has also seized a letter from the flat. This was written by the Ranchi unit of ED to the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand in May 2023. In this, a demand was made to investigate and register an FIR into the disclosure of alleged bribes taken from contractors. Sources say that some recommendation letters written to Alam by MLAs and other high-profile people for transfer and posting of state government officials have also been recovered.

'The game of commission to contractors in exchange for tender'

Let us tell you that this truth has come to light after the arrest of former Chief Engineer of Rural Works Department, Virendra Kumar Ram. Virendra was arrested by ED last year. The agency had said in its statement last year that Virendra Ram, while being the Chief Engineer in the Rural Works Department, took commission in exchange for awarding tenders to contractors, which is the proceeds of crime.

Property worth Rs 39 crore has been seized

After this, in April, the officer's assets worth Rs 39 crore were also confiscated. A case of money laundering was registered against him on the complaint of Jharkhand ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau). On the other hand, MLA from Pakur Assembly seat and Minister Alamgir Alam said regarding the ED's read that he does not have any official information in this regard yet. Came to know through media.

PM Modi's attack on opposition

PM Modi attacked the opposition regarding this raid. Speaking at an election rally in Andhra Pradesh, he said, Congress and INDI alliance shout ED-ED every day. Today the whole country is watching the answer to this. ED has seized mountains of currency notes in Jharkhand. A mountain of currency notes has been found from the servant of the private secretary of a Congress minister. Congress had made its servant's house a warehouse of black money.
