IPL 2024: 'This is a matter of shame'- Indian bowler angry over KL Rahul-Sanjeev Goenka dispute; heard true lies

KL Rahul vs Sanjeev Goenka controversy: After the match played between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad, LSG franchise owner Sanjeev Goenka had publicly reprimanded KL Rahul. After the video of this incident went viral on social media, everyone is strongly condemning this attitude of Goenka. Now Indian team's fast bowler Mohammed Shami has also given a sharp reaction on this incident.

'There is a way to talk' - Mohammed Shami

Talking to Cricbuzz on this matter, Shami said, 'All players have respect and you are also a respected person because you are the owner of the team. Many people are watching you and learning from you. If such things happen in front of the camera then it is a matter of shame.

Shami believes that instead of reprimanding the captain publicly, such things can be done privately. The right-arm fast bowler said, 'If you have to do it, there are many different ways to do it. You can talk to the player in the hotel or dressing room, it is not necessary that these things be done on the field itself.

Supporting KL Rahul, Shami said, 'He is also a captain, not an ordinary player. It is a team game and if the captain does not succeed, it is not a big deal. Anything is possible in the game. I understand there can be good and bad days, but every player has respect and a way of talking. This sends a very wrong message.

It is noteworthy that Lucknow Super Giants had to face a humiliating defeat by 10 wickets at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last match. Batting first, Lucknow had set a target of 166 runs for Hyderabad to win, which it achieved in just 9.4 overs. The opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma thrashed the Lucknow bowlers and all the cricket fans enjoyed it a lot.
