IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad team flew under the storm of Suryakumar Yadav, gave a one-sided victory to Mumbai Indians with a tremendous century.

 


Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, 55th Match: In the 55th match of IPL 2024 played in Mumbai, Mumbai Indians won the season by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets. Playing first, Hyderabad team scored 173/8 in 20 overs, in reply Mumbai team scored 174/3 in 17.2 overs.

After losing the toss and batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad got a fast start from Travis Head along with Abhishek Sharma and the team completed 50 runs in the fifth over itself. This partnership ended at the score of 56 in the sixth over and Abhishek became the victim of Jasprit Bumrah after scoring 11 runs in 16 balls. Mayank Agarwal, who returned after several matches, flopped and was bowled by debutant Anshul Kamboj after scoring 5 runs. Head once got a lease of life by getting out on a no ball but he could not take much advantage of it and after scoring 48 runs in 30 balls, returned to the pavilion on the score of 90 in the 11th over.

From here, Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered two big setbacks in quick succession. Nitish Kumar Reddy (20) and Heinrich Klaasen (2) were out cheaply. Shahbaz Ahmed played an inning of 17 runs. Whereas, Marco Jansen contributed 17 runs. In the end, captain Pat Cummins played tremendous shots and the Hyderabad team crossed the 150-run mark in the 19th over. Cummins remained unbeaten after scoring 35 runs in 17 balls. Whereas, impact player Sanveer Singh scored 8 unbeaten runs. For Mumbai Indians, captain Hardik Pandya and Piyush Chawla took three wickets each.

The partnership of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma made the path of Mumbai Indians easier.

While chasing the target, Mumbai Indians got off to a fast start but could not make much progress and Ishan Kishan remained at the score of 26 in the second over after scoring 9 runs in 7 balls. Rohit Sharma also could not do anything special and scored only 4 runs and was caught out while trying to play a big shot. In the fifth over, the team got its third blow at the score of 31 and Naman Dheer could not even open his account.

From here, the faltering innings of Mumbai Indians got support from Suryakumar Yadav, who along with Tilak Verma worked to destroy the bowlers of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Both of them first took the score beyond 100 and then beyond 150. Suryakumar played a tremendous unbeaten inning of 102 runs in 51 balls and ended the match with a six. There was an unbeaten partnership of 143 runs in 79 balls for the fourth wicket between him and Tilak Verma (37*). For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan and Marco Janssen took one wicket each.
