IPL 2024 Points Table: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 98 runs in the IPL 2024 match played at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow on Sunday (6 May). After being invited to bat first, KKR scored a huge score of 235 runs at the loss of 6 wickets on the basis of a stormy half-century by Sunil Narayan (81).

In response, Lucknow was all out for 137 runs in 16.1 overs. Apart from Marcus Stoinis (36) and KL Rahul (25), no other player stayed at the crease for long.

KKR became topper

This is KKR's eighth win in 11 matches and the team has reached first place in the points table with 16 points. With this resounding win, KKR's net run rate has increased to +1.453. KKR defeated Rajasthan Royals, who slipped to second place. Rajasthan also has 16 points, but is far behind KKR in terms of net run rate.

Lucknow is at fifth position with its fifth defeat in 11 matches. Along with Lucknow, Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad also have 12 points each, but the net run rate of KL Rahul's team has become -0.371.

Who has the orange and purple cap

Orange cap is adorned on the head of Virat Kohli for scoring the most runs. He has scored 542 runs in 11 matches at an average of 67.75. Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is at second place with 541 runs in 11 matches.

The Purple Cap is occupied by Jasprit Bumrah of Mumbai Indians, who has taken 17 wickets in 11 matches so far. Harshal Patel of Punjab Kings has also taken 17 wickets in 11 matches, but Bumrah's average and economy are better than him.
