IPL 2024: 'Focus on cricket, not parties'- Wasim Akram gave class to the young Indian batsman; Special advice given in strong words

Wasim Akram advice to Prithvi Shaw: The performance of Delhi Capitals team in IPL 2024 has been mixed so far. DC has won 6 out of the 12 matches played so far and is still in the race for the playoffs. The Rishabh Pant-led team still has to play its two league matches against Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Both these teams are also in the race to reach the playoffs. Compared to the first phase of the tournament, the performance of Delhi team in the second phase has been much better. However, one Delhi player who has disappointed everyone with his performance throughout this season is Prithvi Shaw.

Prithvi Shaw's bat has been completely calm in IPL 2024

In the last season of IPL, right-handed batsman Shaw did not bat and he could only cross the 100-run mark. Although there has been some improvement in his performance this season, he has still not been able to achieve his best form. He has scored 198 runs in 8 matches at an average of 163.64. He was not included in the playing XI in the last match played against Rajasthan Royals, in which Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel had performed strongly in the beginning.

Wasim Akram gave important advice to Prithvi Shaw

Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram talked about the performance of Prithvi Shaw in the current season. He greatly appreciated Shaw's talent. Akram also gave important advice to Shaw to regain his place in the Indian team.

While talking to Sportskeeda, Akram said, 'I have not seen him closely this year, but he has to focus on the basics. He will have to play first-class cricket and score big scores. Shaw will have to leave parties and concentrate on cricket. There's still a lot of cricket in him, just go back and play first-class cricket. Score a lot of centuries and make a comeback. This is the only way, there are no shortcuts. He has time and it is good for him.
