When it comes to keeping the body cool in summer, people like to eat raita along with various types of drinks. There are many types of raita. Most people know about boondi or cucumber raita. But sometimes you get bored of eating the same type of raita every day, so in such a situation you can also make makhana raita.

Makhana can prove beneficial in proper functioning of digestion and weight loss. Along with this, consuming curd in summer season cools the body. Also, good bacteria are found in it, which are beneficial for the digestive system. Curd is a probiotic. Vitamin C and antioxidants are found in it, which can prove to be helpful in boosting immunity. In such a situation, you can sometimes eat it by mixing boond or cucumber and sometimes makhana raita. Ingredients to make Makhana Raita

To make this, you will need 2 cups makhana, 1 cup curd, raita masala as per taste, red chili powder, chaat masala, garam masala, chopped coriander leaves, desi ghee and salt.

Method of making Makhana Raita

To make makhana raita, first heat ghee in a pan on low flame and add makhanas in it and fry them till they turn light golden in colour. Now turn off the gas and keep the makhanas in a plate to cool down. After it cools down, grind it coarsely. After this, take curd in a vessel and whisk it well.

Now after beating the curd, add chaat masala, raita masala, garam masala, red chili powder and salt as per taste and mix well. Now add ground makhana and mix well. If the curd is thick then you can make it a little thinner by adding water as per your requirement. Delicious makhana raita is ready. Now to serve it, garnish it by adding chopped coriander leaves.
