What is the right age to plan pregnancy?
According to the guidelines issued by ICMR, to give birth to a healthy baby, it is important that the mother's weight should be correct during pregnancy and she should get adequate nutrition, which is called pre-pregnancy nutrition. If you are planning pregnancy then your age should be at least 21 years.
These tests must be done before pregnancy
Women should get some basic tests done before planning pregnancy. In this, tests like blood pressure, thyroid function, blood sugar, anemia (hemoglobin, condition of red blood cells), body weight must be done. This will protect you from complications during pregnancy.
It is important to take folic acid
ICMR guidelines state that women should start taking folic acid before pregnancy and should continue it throughout pregnancy.
