Lord Ganesha is also called the remover of obstacles because he removes the obstacles of the devotees and happiness and peace reside there. According to the scriptures, Lord Ganesha had two marriages. Do you know the story behind this? Let us know the interesting story.
First mythological story:
According to religious scriptures, two stories are described regarding the marriage of Lord Ganesha. According to the first mythological story, once when Lord Ganesha was doing penance, Tulsi Mata was passing from there. Her eyes fell on Lord Ganesha and she became fascinated by him. Tulsi ji wanted to marry Vighnaharta, but at that time Ganesh ji was following celibacy. For this reason he refused to marry. After refusing to marry, Tulsi ji cursed Ganesh ji that he would have two marriages. After this, Ganesh ji cursed Tulsi ji that she would marry a demon. For this reason, even today Tulsi Dal is not offered to Lord Ganesha.
Second mythology:
According to the second mythology, no one wanted to marry Lord Ganesha because of his body structure. Frustrated with this, he started creating disruptions in the marriages of others as well. Ganesh ji along with his vehicle Mushak did not allow others to get married. The gods and goddesses became very upset due to this.
Due to this, Riddhi got married to Siddhi.
The gods and goddesses approached Lord Brahma with their problem. Hearing the problem, Lord Brahma sent his Manas daughters Riddhi Siddhi to Lord Ganesha to get education. After this Ganesh ji started teaching both of them. At the same time, when Ganesh ji used to create obstacles in the marriage, both the daughters used to divert Ganesh ji's attention. After this, marriages of gods and goddesses started taking place. When Lord Ganesha came to know about this work of both of them, he became very angry. Just as Ganesh ji was about to curse, Brahma ji arrived there and suggested Ganesh ji to marry Riddhi Siddhi. Accepting the suggestion, Ganesh ji married Riddhi Siddhi.
