Pathirana got more money in LPL than IPL

Pathirana has received 1.20 lakh US dollars in the Lanka Premier League auction, which is Rs 99.95 lakh in Indian rupees. The surprising thing is that Pathirana's salary in IPL 2024 was only Rs 20 lakh. Meaning, in Lanka Premier League he has got about Rs 80 lakh more than IPL. Pathirana will be seen playing for Colombo Strikers in the upcoming season of LPL.

Even though Pathirana did not get a huge amount for playing in IPL, he got recognition because of playing in this league. Pathirana made his IPL debut under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Last season, he also won the IPL title with the team.

Dhoni also has a very special relationship with Pathirana. Pathirana had told how Dhoni plays the role of a father in his cricket life and tells him small things, which made a big difference in his cricket career.

It is noteworthy that in the current season, Chennai Super Kings had to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last league match to qualify for the playoffs. But in that match, while chasing the target of 219 runs, CSK could score only 191 runs after losing 7 wickets and RCB won the match by 27 runs.
