Dhrupad singer Laxman Bhatt Tailang passes away, name was announced for Padmashree just a few days ago


Laxman Bhatt Tailang, a big name in the field of Dhrupad singing, is no more. He was undergoing treatment for pneumonia and other diseases in a hospital in Jaipur, but he could not be saved. He breathed his last on Saturday morning. Recently the Central Government had announced that Laxman Bhatt Tailang will be awarded the Padma Shri award.

Famous Dhrupad singer Laxman Bhatt Tailang has passed away in a private hospital in Jaipur. He was 95 years old. Just a few days ago, the Central Government had announced to give him the Padmashree Award. Laxman Bhatt Tailang had a chest infection, for which he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.

However, doctors could not save him and he died on Saturday morning. According to his family, his last rites have been performed in Brahmapuri area. It has been told in the report that some time ago he had pneumonia. Apart from this, he also had some other age related diseases.

The Central Government had announced the Padma Awards on the eve of 26 January. On that day, the name of Dhruvapadacharya Laxman Bhatt Tailang was also announced for the Padmashree Award. However, he passed away before he could receive the award.

Laxman Bhatt Tailang was called the master of classical music. He was recognized for creating a new form of singing 'Pachrang'. Laxman Bhatt Tailang's father Pandit Madho Bhatt Tailang was also a famous Dhravpad singer. Since childhood, he got an environment of Dhravpad music at home and he got immersed in it. Let us tell you that Laxman Bhatt Tailang was born in 1924.

Laxman Bhatt Tailang's world revolved around music. He also taught his children what he learned from his father. Son Ravi Shankar, daughters Shobha, Usha, Nisha, Madhu, Poonam and Aarti have also learned Dhrupad Sangeet. He also served as a music lecturer in Banasthali Vidyapeeth and Rajasthan Music Institute.
