I am a critic of PM Modi, that's why 3 political parties are desperate to give me ticket - Actor Prakash Raj

Prakash Raj said that today's political parties have lost their voice and there is no truth left in them and that is why many of them (parties) are constantly struggling to find candidates. There are no candidates in this country anymore. Political parties have to constantly struggle to find representatives for any constituency.

Before the Lok Sabha elections, the electoral equation has started being set by the political parties. Political parties are busy searching for big faces to win the elections. Film actor Prakash Raj is known for speaking openly against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government. Now this same actor has made a big claim that many political parties are in contact to field candidates in the Lok Sabha elections because he openly opposes PM Modi.

58-year-old actor Prakash Raj says that 'three political parties' are after him to make him their candidate in this year's Lok Sabha elections. But the reason for this is not because of his ideology but because he is a critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prakash Raj said at the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) held in Kozhikode, “I do not want to get trapped in this trap.”

The film actor, who has won many important awards, is known for his brilliant work in popular films like “Kanchivaram”, “Singham” and “Wanted”. He has also contested in the last Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he contested as an independent candidate from Bengaluru Central parliamentary seat but was defeated.

During a session on 'Star Power and State-Craft: Public Persona and Electoral Politics', he said, “Now, elections are coming again, three political parties are after me. I have switched off my phone because I don't want to fall into their trap. They are not coming for the people and for my ideology, they say because you are a vocal critic of the BJP government at the Center and you are a good candidate.”

He also alleged that today's political parties have lost their voice and there is no truth left in them and that is why many of them (parties) are constantly struggling to find candidates. He said, “There are not even candidates in this country now. Political parties have to constantly struggle to find representatives for any constituency. How helpless have we become?”

On whether he 'hates' Prime Minister Modi, Prakash Raj said, “I do not hate him (PM Modi). Is he my father-in-law or do I have some kind of property dispute with him? I am just telling them that I am a taxpayer… I gave you my salary and you are treating me like a servant. "I'm telling them to do their job."
