Deepak Chahar revealed, told why he had withdrawn his name from South Africa tour

India recently visited South Africa. On this tour, India had to play series in all three formats. Whereas fast bowler Deepak Chahar was selected for the limited overs series played on the tour. However he had withdrawn his name. Now Deepak has revealed the reason for not participating in the South Africa tour.

Deepak said, "For me my father comes first. I am here only because of him. Whatever I have achieved is because of my father. If I am not with him in those situations, then obviously Hey, what kind of son am I? If the series was in India, I would have definitely tried to play. If needed, you can come to the hospital within 4-5 hours. But apparently, it takes 2-5 hours to come back from South Africa. It takes 3 days. It was an easy decision to stay with my father. Any son would do that."

The fast bowler further said, "I was in the hospital with my father for 25 days. He was admitted to Aligarh. We all had to stay there. I could only do some exercises. I could not do any cricket activities. That's why I was not ready for the Afghanistan series. I didn't practice for about a month. After that I went to NCA. I started doing my practice again and now I am completely fit. Everything is good. I worked really hard for the IPL and the World Cup. "

Deepak is currently focusing on the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 starting in June and believes that to strike the right balance in T20, there is always a need for a bowler who can bat at No. 7, 8, 9. Could. Whereas Deepak will now be seen in action for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024 and will sharpen the preparations for the World Cup.

Deepak has played 25 T20 International matches for India so far and has taken 31 wickets with the help of an economy rate of 8.30. His best bowling performance has been taking 6 wickets for 7 runs. As a batsman, he has scored 53 runs in 7 innings. His highest score in T20 International has been 31 runs.
