A divorced woman from Aurangabad district of Bihar became friends with a young man living in Singhwara police station area of Darbhanga on Facebook. The process of lining up and commenting on each other's posts continued on Facebook.
After some time both of them started chatting on Facebook. Later she moved forward. Friendship turned into love. Then both of them exchanged mobile numbers. The young man talking on the mobile promised to marry the divorced woman. After a love affair that lasted for four years, the woman now went to the police station and lodged a complaint against her lover for having an affair.

In the application given in the police station, the woman told the police that 'Accused Shahban Athar had a relationship with me for 4 years on the pretext of marriage. During this time I became pregnant. When I pressed for marriage, Athar left me and went to Saudi Arabia.
When she reached her house, her family members got her aborted on the pretext of getting her married. After the abortion, Shahban Athar got me a room on rent in Gaya district. Where she started living with her first husband's children.

The victim told that 'while staying in a rented room in Gaya, Shahban Athar kept sending money for all household expenses. After a few days he stopped paying the expenses.
And also gradually stopped talking. There was no marriage during this period. In such a situation, I once again put pressure on Athar's family to get him married to me.
On this, on 17 April 2023, Shahban Athar's brother Adnan Athar called him to his village in Darbhanga district and asked him to stay here. Athar's family kept me in their house for some days.

He also has children. On 3rd August, Shahban Athar's brother-in-law called me to Kolkata. There I was beaten up and sent away, threatening to stay away from Shahban Athar. The woman further told that during this time, information was received about Shahban Athar returning to the village from Dubai.
When he spoke to Shahban Athar, he called him to meet him on October 9 at Atarbel Chowk in Darbhanga. From there Shahban Athar took him with him to each hotel.

The victim woman told that Shahban Athar again had relations with her in the hotel on the pretext of marrying her soon. Later there was an argument between the two on the issue of marriage. After this she returned back to Aurangabad.
On October 13, when the woman returned to the young man's house in Nista village, the lover and his family members beat her up. The woman told that the same day she went to the police station with a complaint, but her complaint was not heard. On the contrary, he was kept at the police station overnight and sent home in the morning.
