British era laws will be replaced, 19 bills will be presented in the Parliament session

 


Before the winter session of Parliament, the Central Government has held an all-party meeting today. The meeting was held under the leadership of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi. He discussed the smooth running of the session and all the agendas of the session with the representatives of all the parties. There will be 15 meetings during the winter session and the session will run from 4-22 December. There are a total of 37 bills pending in Parliament, out of which 19 bills are to be introduced in this session.

Out of 37 bills pending in the Parliament, 12 bills are to be considered and passed. Apart from these, three bills Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act are to be introduced, which will replace the criminal laws of the colonial era. These three bills are proposed. After today's meeting, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi asked the opposition parties to consider running the session smoothly.

Last session of 17th Lok Sabha, 19 bills will be introduced

The Union Minister said that the government will also discuss its success in Parliament. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said that there is a plan to introduce 19 bills in this session. He told that this will be the last session of the 17th Lok Sabha, where the work of the Modi government in the last five years will be discussed. A bulletin issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat said that the government may introduce a bill which will make provision for increasing the women's quota in Jammu and Kashmir and Puducherry.

These bills will be discussed in the winter session of Parliament

  • The Indian Judicial Code, 2023, is a proposed bill introduced in the Lok Sabha. If this bill is passed, it will replace the existing Indian Penal Code, 1860.
  • The objective of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023 is to replace the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973.
  • The Indian Evidence Bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha on August 11, 2023, to repeal and replace the Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
  • The Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill, 2023
  • Jammu and Kashmir – Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2023 (to provide reservation of 1/3 of the total number of seats for women in the Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir)
  • Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2023 (in Telangana)
  • Post Office Bill, 2023
  • Repeal and Amendment Bill, 2023
