The option of email verification will also be available for account login on Meta's social media app. Till now you could login only by phone number, but this process will change in the coming time. With email verification, users will get another option to run WhatsApp.
According to the report of WABetaInfo, which keeps an eye on the upcoming features and updates of WhatsApp, the new feature has been released on beta update. 'Email address' has been added as a secondary option for user verification on Android 2.23.24.10 update version of WhatsApp. Currently, this feature is available for beta testers of WhatsApp .
Is the phone number work finished?
Some people working on versions 2.23.24.9 and 2.23.24.8 are also getting a chance to login in a new way. It is important to know a few things about the email verification feature. First of all, email is just another option to run WhatsApp. This does not mean that it will replace the phone number. Phone number will continue to be the default verification option for WhatsApp account.
