Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, famous as Sanju Baba, has done many great films in his career. He has many such characters which reside in the hearts of people. One of those characters is Munnabhai, who is from the film Munnabhai MBBS released in 2003. Even today people like to watch this film and Sanjay's character. But do you know that Sanjay was not the first choice for this role.
Before Sanjay Dutt, Shahrukh Khan was going to play the role of Munnabhai. However, he fell ill and then had to go to London, due to which he could not do this film and then its offer went to Sanjay Dutt. Recently, the film's producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra told about this on a TV show during the promotion of his recently released film 12th Fail.

When Shahrukh was going to play the role of Munnabhai, Sanjay Dutt had the role of Zaheer. That means Sanjay Dutt was going to be seen in the character in which Jimmy Shergill was seen. Then Vidhu Vinod Chopra asked Sanjay Dutt whether he would do Munnabhai, to which Sanjay Dutt said that I am doing it. Then Vidhu Chopra told him that now he has to play the role of Munnabhai, not the role of Zaheer.
Story of Arshad Warsi's character
Along with Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi also became famous through this film. People also like his circuit character a lot. However, before him, an actor from Sanjay's film Vaastav was cast in this film. Due to dates the actor could not do the film. Then Arshad became a part of this film.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra also told that earlier the name of this character was not going to be Circuit but Itch. However, Arshad did not like this name and then he advised to keep the name Circuit, which became popular everywhere after its release.
