The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had given time till October 7 to the people to exchange their ₹ 2000 notes from banks. The old rules will be valid

If you want to exchange ₹ 2000 note at the regional office of RBI in these 19 cities, then the old rules will apply. Meaning, you will still be able to exchange only 10 notes of ₹ 2000 at a time i.e. ₹ 20,000. If you cannot go in person, you can send your notes to the regional office of RBI by Indian Post. Along with this, you will have to send your bank details, so that the amount of notes gets credited to your account.
