Will Kashmiri apples disappear? Mehbooba Mufti raised questions on this decision of Modi government

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has raised questions on an economic decision of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. He says that this decision will cause great harm to Kashmiris. Know what is the whole matter...

The Narendra Modi government at the Center recently took a big economic decision just before the G20 meeting. Now former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has given a big statement regarding this. Mehbooba Mufti says that this decision of the government will cause great loss to the farmers of Kashmir who grow apples, walnuts and almonds.

In fact, just before the G20 meeting, the Modi government has removed the extra debt imposed on American products like chickpea, lentils and apples. The Indian government took this decision in 2019 after America increased taxes on products like steel and aluminium. This extra tax was imposed on a total of 28 goods in America.

Last week, the Finance Ministry had removed the extra tax imposed on apples, lentils, chickpeas, whole walnuts, fresh almonds, dried almonds and whole almonds coming from America. The government took this decision just before US President Joe Biden's visit to India for the G20.

Kashmiris will suffer loss

Now Mehbooba Mufti has given a statement on this matter. He has written on the social media networking site 'X' that the government's decision to remove extra tax on apple, walnut and almond will have a very bad impact on the local producers of Jammu and Kashmir. These producers are suffering huge losses since 2019.
