Ashwin revealed that Kohli and he were talking to each other 5-6 years ago and at that time Rohit Sharma was batting. During this, Virat had asked Ashwin who is the best batsman in the death overs and a nightmare for the captain? R Ashwin said that he thought Kohli would take Dhoni's name but he said it was Rohit.

Talking about this, Ashwin said, "5-6 years ago, when Rohit was batting, there was a discussion between Virat Kohli and me. I don't remember which match it was. Seeing Rohit batting. I was thinking, 'Where can you bowl to him?' If Rohit gets set after 15-20 overs, you won't know where to bowl to him. Virat asked me, "Do you know who is a captain's nightmare at the death?" I said, 'Is this Dhoni?' Kohli said, 'No, this is Rohit.' When I asked him the reason for this, he said that you will not know where to bowl.”

Speaking further he said, "If Rohit Sharma is batting at the end of the 16th over in T20, where would you bowl? He has all the shots in the book and once played an extraordinary innings at the Chinnaswamy Stadium which Kohli could never bowl. Can't forget.
