Canada is fast becoming a safe haven for Khalistani terrorists and gangsters. These Khalistani terrorists and gangsters have been involved in many criminal activities like murders and extortion in India. One of these names is that of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot dead by bike riders in British Columbia in June this year. Canada has expelled an Indian diplomat over the Nijjar murder case.
NIA had placed a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head.
The big thing is that last year, India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) had declared Nijjar a terrorist and announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head, whereas in 2020, the security agency had declared him a terrorist. 45 year old Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar had reached Canada in 1997 from Pura village of Jalandhar in Punjab. After this, he along with Khalistani supporters started spewing venom against India. Nijjar was also the president of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurudwara.
Murder of Hindu priest
Nijjar, the chief of the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), was also the main leader of the pro-Khalistan referendum in Canada along with New York-based Sikh for Justice leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Nijjar, living in Canada, has been actively participating in anti-India activities for many years. Nijjar was accused of carrying out a target killing in Jalandhar, Punjab in the year 2021. A Hindu priest was killed in this target. The conspiracy to murder the priest was hatched by Khalistan Tiger Force at the behest of Nijjar.
What are the reasons for Nijjar's murder?
Nijjar had told the media a few days before the murder that the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) had told me that my life was in danger. It also came to light that Nijjar was murdered by a betel nut killer. At the same time, it was also said that Nijjar's murder was revenge for the murder of Ripudaman Singh Malik, accused in the Air India bomb blast in June 1985. Malik was killed by two gunmen outside his Surrey office.
Nijjar was in dispute with Malik regarding the printing of the holy Sikh scripture in Surrey. Apart from this, Malik's praise for Narendra Modi government in India had also angered the pro-Khalistan leaders. Some pro-Khalistan organizations allege that Nijjar has been killed by Indian agencies.
