Adi Vinayak Temple: There is a temple of Lord Ganesha in India where his human form is worshipped. This temple is the only one in the world where there is no Gajmukh idol of Bappa.

Ganesh Chaturthi: Now only two to three days are left for Ganpati Bappa to arrive. The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated all over the country. People have also started preparations to welcome Bappa. Especially in Maharashtra, a different scene is seen during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. From Siddhivinayak to Khajrana, crowds of people are seen in Bappa's temples across the country.

In all these temples, the idol of Lord Ganesha has a trunk, but do you know that this is the only Ganesh temple in India, where the idol of Lord Ganesha is in human form. Till now you too must have seen the idol of Bappa with trunk, so let us take you to see this special temple.

Adivinayak Temple

This temple of Lord Ganesha is in Tamil Nadu. The name of this temple is Adivinayak, where Lord Ganesha is worshiped in human form. The interesting thing is that this statue is found only in Adivinayak temple in the world. In this temple, Bappa's body has a human face and not a Gajmukh.

Why is the human face worshipped?

It is believed that when Lord Shankar became angry at Ganesha, he severed Ganesha's head from his body. After which an elephant's head was placed on the torso of Lord Ganesha. But here that form of Bappa is worshipped. The temple was also named Adi Vinayak because here Adi i.e. the first form of Lord Ganapati is worshipped.

How to reach Adivinayak Temple

This temple is at a place called Tillatharpan Puri, about 3 km from Kutnoor in Tiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu state. You can also go to this temple via flight. The nearest airport to the temple is Tiruchirappalli Airport, which is at a distance of about 110 kilometers. At the same time, if you want to go here by train, then after reaching Chennai you will have to take a train to Thiruvarur.
