President Erdogan told a press conference held in Delhi that the G-20 declaration also condemned attacks on holy books due to Turkey's proposals and efforts. Condemning the incident of burning of holy books, Erdogan said that burning the Quran under police protection is a 'clear incitement and a hate crime'.

Turkey is among those countries which are known to criticize India, but President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who came to New Delhi to attend the G-20 summit, has openly praised India's hosting. Praising India's warm hosting of the closing ceremony of the conference, the President said that I thank India for the very successful presidency of the G-20. I also thank PM Modi.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, “I thank India for its very successful presidency of the G-20 summit. “I would like to thank PM Narendra Modi for the wonderful hospitality extended to me, my wife and the entire Turkish delegation.” President Erdogan said, “India is our largest trading partner in South Asia. And we have immense potential to move forward mainly in the economy and many other areas.”

Erdogan spoke about environmental challenges

Erdogan has been continuously speaking against India on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. The Modi government at the Center had also opposed the removal of Article 370. Not only this, Erdogan has criticized the Indian government many times on global forums regarding Jammu and Kashmir.

Regarding the G20 conference, the Turkish President said, “This year, our theme was one world, one family and one future. In the opening session of the summit, we discussed the environmental challenges that our planet is currently facing. “Climate change, loss of biological diversity and large-scale pollution are a trio of challenges that we can now feel even more acutely.”

Quran burning incident a hate crime: Erdogan

President Erdogan told a press conference held in Delhi that the G-20 declaration also condemned attacks on holy books due to Turkey's proposals and efforts. Condemning the incident of burning of holy books, Erdogan said that burning the Quran under police protection is a 'clear provocation and a hate crime'. He further said that no one can expect us to remain silent in this matter.

Referring to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine and efforts to end the war at the conference, Turkish President Erdogan said, “…we believe that any initiative to isolate Russia will fail. The chances of success in this are very less. “We believe that any move to increase tension in the Black Sea should be avoided.” He said that to support global food security and food supply security, we are going to bring together the United Nations as well as Russia and Ukraine in the Food Supply Security Study Group. We will also continue to engage with stakeholders from the international community…”
