G20 Summit: This is how business suffered a loss of Rs 400 crore over the weekend, here is the report

India spent Rs 4254 crore in hospitality and preparations for the G20 guests. But during this period the markets of Delhi were kept closed on weekends. Due to which the businessmen of Delhi have suffered a loss worth crores.

India has hosted the G20 this time. Many big diplomats from India and abroad participated in this global level meeting. India spent Rs 4254 crore in his hospitality and preparations. At the same time, the markets of Delhi were kept closed on weekends. Due to which the businessmen of Delhi have suffered a loss worth crores. This information has been given by the New Delhi Traders Association itself. He told that due to closure of main markets in Delhi during G20, businessmen have suffered losses worth crores. At the same time, Delhi is also facing huge losses due to the closure of online food delivery of Swiggy-Zomato.

This is how loss of crores was incurred

The G20 summit may have been a resounding success for India, but it has caused an estimated loss of Rs 400 crore to shop and restaurant owners. Also, around 9,000 delivery workers have been affected in New Delhi area alone. This happened because markets and malls were closed in New Delhi area. According to NDTA officials, the market is facing losses due to Delhi being closed for 3 days and people being forced to stay at home. Shopping has been affected in many malls including Swiggy, Zomato. According to the NDTA official, if the markets were open for 3 days, foreign guests could also make purchases from the market. It is worth noting that security is the prime concern of the country, so the markets had to remain closed during this period.

Alcohol also causes harm

Delhi has suffered a huge loss due to the closure of liquor vends in New Delhi area. There was a good sale of liquor on weekends. However, during the G20, markets and liquor vends were closed, so this has also affected liquor sales on weekends. The long weekend of Delhi would have brought good brightness to the market but since the market was closed, it also caused loss.

There has been such a decline in hotel and food delivery

Both food and delivery numbers have declined by at least 50% in Delhi. A decline of 20% has been seen in sales in NCR. According to Anjan Chatterjee, president of the specialty restaurant, they have suffered a lot by not serving their customers during the long weekend. According to Rohit Aggarwal, director of Light Bite Foods, which has Punjab Grill, Zumber and Yummy categories, their sales have dropped by 50% during the G20 in Delhi. Even in Gurgaon their sales have been affected by 20%. The reason for this is the closure of some areas of Delhi.

The big markets of the capital like Khan Market, Connaught Place and Janpath – which are considered top attraction points for shopping and eating, would have boosted their earnings if foreign guests had come here. However, when the markets were closed, they also lost the golden opportunity to earn and are facing losses.
