What happens in Android?

Many people often wonder why Android phones do not have a notch like Dynamic Island, whereas it is found in iPhones. Most Android smartphones like Pixel 7 series, Galaxy S23 series have a small dot for the front face above the screen. Then why does Apple need a notch or an island?

This is because Apple has many sensors in the notch and dynamic island which are used for Face ID, facial recognition system. Face ID has a sensor with 3 modules – a dot projector, food illuminator and an infrared camera.

These days, Android phones also come with facial recognition, but it is not as safe as the iPhone. Because Android uses 2D photo matching for face recognition. Most Android devices still use finger scanning.

Apple's Face ID, proximity sensor and other sensors like these are in huge demand. Therefore there should be a dynamic island on the display to adjust these.
