Cleanliness Day program on October 1, PM Modi's appeal to the people - one date, one hour together

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of the country to participate in large numbers in the Cleanliness Day celebrated on October 1.

Cleanliness Day will be celebrated in the country on October 1, for which the government has made complete preparations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of the country to donate one hour of labor on Cleanliness Day. The PM asked people to meet on the coming Sunday at 10 am and donate labor for an hour. He appealed to all the citizens of the country to clean all the public places including rivers, drains and parks in their city.

A big program regarding cleanliness is going to be held on Sunday i.e. 1st October at 10 am. Regarding which the PM called for 'one date, one hour together'. All cleaning work will be done in this program. In which, along with removal of garbage from public places, cleaning of public toilets, repair of sanitation properties, trees will be planted at various places, people will be administered oath of cleanliness and cleanliness race will also be organised. Apart from this, other works of public interest will also be done.

About 3.5 lakh places have been identified so far

According to Vini Mahajan, Secretary, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, all local urban bodies and gram panchayats will select the places for cleaning. All places will be available on a map which can be seen on Swachhata Hi Seva – Citizen Portal https://swachhatahiseva.com/. He said that till now about 3.5 lakh places have been identified, where the cleanliness campaign will be conducted.

Private organizations will be able to organize programs with the permission of the administration

Apart from this, NGOs/RWAs and private organizations can also organize cleanliness programs after getting permission from ULB/District Administration. People participating in the campaign will be able to take pictures from the cleaning site and upload them on the portal and can also share them on the official hashtags: #SwachhBharat, #SwachhataHiSeva and handles @SwachhBharatGov, @swachhbharat.

PM gave the message of cleanliness in 2014

It is noteworthy that 9 years from today, in 2014, PM Modi had given the message of cleanliness. Which turned into a mission within no time. People welcomed this message of PM. Since then, cleanliness programs are organized every year, in which people participate enthusiastically.
