Tomatoes will become cheaper in 48 hours, only 40 rupees will have to be spent for one kilo

For the last two months, inflation in the country has reached its peak. Everything to eat and drink has become expensive. Due to this the budget of the general public has deteriorated.

Before Rakshabandhan, the central government has given a huge gift to the common citizens. The central government on Friday decided that it will sell tomatoes at the rate of Rs 40 per kg in several cities including Delhi-NCR from August 20. The government hopes that this decision will curb inflation. Along with this, the general public will also get relief. At the same time, there is a wave of happiness among the people due to this news.

For this, the Central Government has ordered the National Cooperative Consumer Federation (NCCF) and the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED). NCCF and Nafed will sell tomatoes at the rate of Rs 40 per kg in the retail market from Sunday. The special thing is that apart from Delhi-NCR, NCCF and NAFED will also sell tomatoes at Rs 40 per kg in Jaipur, Kota, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Patna, Arrah, Muzaffarpur and Buxar. For this, customers will have to visit government shops in their city.

Tomatoes had become costlier in the whole country in no time.

In fact, with the onset of monsoon in June, the price of tomatoes suddenly went up in flames. Tomato, which was available at Rs 30 to 40 per kg, suddenly became Rs 150 per kg. At the same time, by the time of July, its price crossed Rs 300 per kg. This made the general public upset. In such a situation, the central government decided to sell tomatoes by itself. For the first time, on July 14, he sold tomatoes at the rate of Rs 90 per kg in Delhi-NCR. After this he started selling tomatoes in other cities of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar as well.

Bought 1.5 million kgs of tomatoes

At the same time, on the orders of the Central Government, NCCF and NAFED had started procuring tomatoes on a large scale from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. So far, more than 15 lakh kg of tomatoes have been procured by both the agencies, which are being continuously sold in retail markets in major consumption centers of the country. However, this has brought a lot of relief to the general public. Let us tell you that in the past, the central government had announced that it will sell tomatoes at Rs 50 per kg on August 15.
