According to the NHS, shoulder pain can be caused by sleeping in the wrong position or doing heavy exercises. However, in some cases, the cause of the pain may be a serious condition of the gall bladder. Acute cholecystitis starts suddenly. In this, pain starts in the upper right part of the abdomen and spreads to the right shoulder. This condition arises when a digestive juice, bile gets trapped in the gallbladder.

Risk of sepsis and death!

In most of its cases, hard and solid lumps are seen which are called gallstones. Gallstones block the tube that drains bile. Due to the blockage, bile i.e. bile starts getting stored, which can cause irritation and pressure before becoming vulnerable to infection. Acute cholecystitis is a serious condition with a risk of sepsis and death, usually requiring treatment in a hospital with intravenous fluids and antibiotics.

Doctors may also recommend removal of the gallbladder after some initial treatment to prevent recurrence of acute cholecystitis. Some of its symptoms are visible in people, such as-
