Hariyali Teej fast story

According to legend, Mata Sati took rebirth as Mata Parvati in the house of Himalaya Raj. Mother Parvati had wished to have Lord Shiva as her husband since childhood. On becoming eligible for marriage, his father started looking for a groom for Parvati. She chose Vishnu ji as a suitable groom but mother Parvati got worried because she had already wished to get Lord Shankar as her husband. Goddess Parvati went to a secluded forest and started doing penance and used to worship Shiva everyday hungry and thirsty. After years of hard penance, Goddess Parvati met Lord Shiva as her husband. On the day of Hariyali Teej itself, Shiva accepted Goddess Parvati as his wife. After this both of them got married.
