In the first part, late actor Amrish Puri was in the role of villain, while Manish Wadhwa is seen in a negative role in this film. Earlier he was also seen in Pathan. Gadar 2 clashed with Akshay Kumar's OMG 2 at the box office, but Sunny Deol's film beat OMG.
