Due to a terrible disease in Brazil, four people of the same family died. The dead include a father and three children. It is being told that 53-year-old Regis Feitosa Mota was suffering from a disease which was hereditary. He had this disease since birth, due to which the chances of developing cancer increases to a great extent. It is being told that due to this disease, three children died between 2018 and 2022. While the father's death has happened recently. 

According to the New York Post report, Regis was born with a disease called 'Li-Fraumeni Syndrome'. Li-Fraumeni syndrome is a rare disease, due to which the chances of developing cancerous tumors in women increase by 90 percent and in men by 70 percent. Due to this rare disease, the affected person has to face the risk of one or more types of cancer in his whole life. This disease is hereditary inherited from the family. This disease was first detected in 1969. Dr. Frederick Lee and Dr. Joseph Fraumeni discovered this disease. 

Who are at higher risk?

Due to this rare disease, there is a possibility of the risk of cancer. There is a risk of breast cancer, bone sarcoma, adrenocortical carcinoma, brain tumor and acute leukemia due to 'Li-Fraumeni syndrome'. Not only this, people affected by this rare condition are also at risk of developing cancer in lungs, thyroid, kidney and gonads. Overall, people with 'Li-Fraumeni syndrome' are at risk of having more than one type of cancer. 

3 children died

According to information, the youngest child of Regis Feitosa died in the year 2018 due to leukemia at the age of 10. While his second son of 22 years and a daughter of 25 years died due to brain tumor. Both these children had earlier defeated leukemia. But later he was hit by brain tumor, which became the cause of death. Regis was diagnosed with cancer about 3 times between 2016 and 2023, including lymphocytic leukemia, multiple myeloma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
