G20 Education Ministers Summit 2023: PM Modi said, G20 countries should increase research cooperation, AI is better for education

G20 Education Ministers Summit 2023: Prime Minister Modi addressed the meeting of G20 Education Ministers in digital mode. He emphasized on the use of technology in education through his recorded video message.

G20 Education Ministers Summit 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the meeting of G20 Education Ministers held in Pune through a video message. During this, the PM said that G20 countries with their strengths can play an important role in promoting research and innovation. He said that everyone should make a way to increase research cooperation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning, skilling and education and said that it offers immense possibilities for the future. He acknowledged the challenges that come with technological progress and emphasized the importance of innovation. He called upon the G-20 to play an important role in leveraging technology for the betterment of education globally.

The Education Working Group, held in Chennai, Amritsar, Bhubaneshwar and Pune, focused on inclusive solutions and collective action to address global challenges. Their priorities include foundational literacy and numeracy, inclusive and qualitative technology-enabled education, capacity building for future work requirements, and promoting research and innovation through collaboration and partnership.

In his address, Modi emphasized the role of digital technology as a means of promoting "equalisation" and inclusiveness. It was described as a power multiplier in increasing access to education and adapting to the needs of the future.

Apart from discussing the importance of AI, he also highlighted the integration of technology with learning to enhance the e-learning experience. He also appreciated the Study Portal of Active-learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM). SWAYAM has achieved remarkable enrollment numbers, offering a wide range of 9,000 courses from 9th standard to post graduate level.
