Prime Minister Narendra Modi today (Monday) released the Tok Pisin translation of the Thirukkural book during his visit to Papua New Guinea . Tok Pisin is one of the local and official languages of Papua New Guinea. PM Modi tweeted after releasing the book that Prime Minister James Marape and I had the honor of releasing the Tirukkural book in Tok Pisin language in Papua New Guinea.

Actually Tirukkural is a very ancient muktak poetic composition written in Tamil language. Its author was Thiruvalluvar. He must have written it between the second century to the sixth century of Christ. It is said that its verses touch every aspect of life. This is one of the greatest works of ethics.
