Revival plan will have to be given to Go First within a month, will the difficulties increase further?

The difficulties of the airline company Go First, which is going through the bankruptcy process, are not taking the name of abatement. Meanwhile, aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered GoFirst to submit a revival plan within 30 days to resume flights. Apart from this, the airline has been asked to present operational aircraft, availability of pilots and other personnel, maintenance arrangements and funding status, among other details, which has increased the difficulties of Go First.

According to the source, the revival plan once presented by GoFirst will first be reviewed by the DGCA so that further appropriate action can be taken. DGCA will audit the preparations of GoFirst before approving the resumption of flights. Cash-strapped GoFirst stopped flying on May 3 and is undergoing voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings.

First see the security protocol then take a decision – Scindia

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday said on a question on the resumption of flights by GoFirst, that we have not received anything from GoFirst yet, apply your mind, see the safety protocol and based on that take any further action. Take a decision. Meanwhile, the airline's communication to the employees also said that the CEO has assured that the salary for April will be credited into their accounts before the resumption of operations. Further, from the coming month the salary will be paid in the first week of every month.

Show cause notice issued to Go First

The DGCA on May 8 issued a show cause notice to GoFirst under the relevant provision of the Aircraft Rules, 1937 for failure to continue to operate the service in a safe, efficient and reliable manner. GoFirst announced on 2 May to file a petition for voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings as well as suspension of flights, initially canceling flights for two days, 3 May and 4 May. Even at that time, the DGCA had issued a show cause notice to GoFirst for canceling flights on May 3 and 4 without any prior notice. Now the airline has canceled all its flights till 26 May.
