WPL Auction 2023: These 10 Indian women cricketers became rich overnight in WPL auction, franchises bid in crores

 


WPL Auction 2023 News in Hindi: Players were auctioned on Monday evening to play in the Women's Premier League (WPL), which started for the first time for women on the lines of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In this auction, the vice-captain of the Indian women's cricket team, Smriti Mandhana was the player sold for the highest amount. He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 3.40 crore ($410,000) after beating Mumbai Indians.

10 Indian cricketers who became millionaires

In the auction (WPL Auction 2023), 10 Indian players were successful in getting more than one crore rupees. Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur could not get much. He was included in his team by Mumbai Indians for half the amount i.e. Rs 1.80 crore from Smriti Mandhana. At the same time, England's Nat Sciver Brunt was added to the Mumbai Indian team by paying Rs 3.20 crore. 

Deepti Sharma joins UP Warriors

The country's second most expensive player (WPL Auction 2023) was all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who was bought by UP Warriors for Rs 2.6 crore. Shefali Verma, famous for her quick batting, and Jemima Rodrigues, who was the star of the World T20 match against Pakistan on Sunday, were bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 2 and 2.20 crore respectively. All-rounders Pooja Vastrakar (Mumbai Indians) and Richa Ghosh (RCB) also got Rs 1.90 crore each.

Australia's Meg Lanning also bid

Yastika Bhatia, who opened the innings with Shefali in the match against Pakistan, was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 1.50 crore. At the same time, RCB added Renuka Singh with them for the same amount. UP Warriors included Devika Vaidya in their team for Rs 1.40 crore. Delhi Capitals bought Australia's Meg Lanning for Rs 1.10 crore in their court. 

New Zealand captain did not get much value

In the first round of the auction (WPL Auction 2023), Australia's off-spin all-rounder Ashley Gardner was bought by Gautam Adani's Gujarat Giants for Rs 3.20 crore ($386,000). Gardner and Nate Skriver were the highest earning players among foreign players. Australia's star all-rounder Ellyse Perry was sold for Rs 1.70 crore ($205,000), which was won by RCB. RCB included New Zealand captain Sophie Devine in their team for a cheap 'base price' of Rs 50 lakh.

Mithali Raj expressed happiness over the auction

India's great cricketer and Gujarat Giants mentor Mithali Raj said that she is very excited about the players her team has selected. Mithali said, 'My team and I are thrilled that we have selected such a wonderful team (WPL Auction 2023). We selected the team considering all the departments and now we will start our preparation for the upcoming tournament. ,
